Monday Novice

The Monday Novice League (alternating 6:45 pm and 9:00 pm draw times) is suitable for someone who has been through a curling clinic or program or has limited curling experience. You must be ready to make a commitment to curl all season. Participants may sign up as individuals to be placed on teams, as a complete team of four, or as a partial team looking for one or two others.

VCC supplies necessary curling equipment, including step-on sliders, grippers, brooms and delivery devices. Participants should have clean running shoes and warm clothing in layers that is either stretchy or loose-fitting to enable you to comfortably get into a curling delivery position.

The first five weeks of the program are devoted to curling instruction, then league play begins in week six. There are 23 weeks in total. The 2024-25 season will start on Sept. 23 and run until Apr. 7, with no curling on Sept. 30, Oct. 14, Dec. 23, Dec. 30, Feb. 10, and Feb. 17.

Participants may curl in the novice league for only two seasons, then they are asked to move on to other Vancouver Curling Club leagues to make room for other new curlers in the league. This is a fun league, as everyone in it is relatively new to curling and the bar is open for socializing when your game is done.

Registration for the 2024-25 season will open here on July 1.
