66th Annual Season of Professional Engineers Curling League
The Professional Engineers League has now completed our 66th season. Our league offers both competitiveness and a social atmosphere in open format curling.
Our league is full with 16 teams, but we are accepting teams and individual curlers for our wait list for next September. Our 67th Season started on Saturday, mid-September 2026.
If you are interested in sparing contact Rob or Pat. (details at bottom of the page)

The Engineer’s Curling League was conceived by Jack Merchant, who was a senior engineer at Swan Wooster Engineering. He started the league in 1959 at the Pacific Curling Club.*
Over the 65 five years of our leagues existence, we missed 2020-21 season due to Covid-19, but we have now curled at four different curling clubs as follows:
- 1959/1960 to 1969/70 - Pacific Curling Club in Vancouver
- 1970/71 to 1993/94 - Hollyburn Country Club in West Vancouver
- 1994/95 to 2014/15 - North Shore Winter Club in North Vancouver
- 2015/16 to present - Vancouver Curling Club in Vancouver
This year our league will start our 66th season started on Saturday, September 13, 2025. For those new two our league the first day of curling is a set of fun mini-games and a skills competition with the top curlers winning fresh apple pies.
The regular round robin season starts in mid-September and runs until the end of March.
On the last Saturday before the Christmas break, we have our annual turkey shoot.
On the last four games of the year we have a four week playoff which this year wrapped up on Saturday, March 28, 2026. At our wrap-up fine wines are awarded to each and every team.
Final Regular Season Standings
Team Hammer time winner of league aggregate.

- Our league plays a full round robin schedule, with an end of season playoff, with all teams in the playoff.
- We are one of the only leagues at VCC that still curls the originally traditional full 10 ends, but we currently have a 2.5 hour time slot, compared to most leagues curl with a 2 hour time slot. (We do play to a bell. You need to play at a good pace to get in 10 ends)
- There is a good balance between competitiveness and social. In other words we have a lot of fun but at the same time we are out to win.
- The curling fees for the season includes:
1. curling ice rental to the VCC
2. an opening skills competition where fresh apple pies are awarded to the best team and individuals
3. a turkey shoot in late December
4. a full round robin of play followed by a four-game playoff
5. closing ceremonies at the end of the season where fine wines are awarded as prizes. (All teams will win some wine)
6. we do not have any 50/50 draws or anything like that to finance league activities. Your fee includes everything. - A person simply cannot go wrong by joining our league. It is the best possible league to curl in.
- The 8:30 starting time on Saturday morning has the benefit of getting you going for the weekend.
- If you join our league, we will guarantee you a good time and you will meet a lot of new friends.
- We have 16 teams this year. Priority will be given to returning teams, but any teams or individual curlers who wish to join us for next season are encouraged to put your name on our wait list by e-mailing your request to This email address is being protected from spambots.
