New executive selected by the incoming board of directors
New president Andrew Forshner
The new VCC board of directors has met and selected the executive, following last month's annual general meeting that saw new directors elected and some directors retire. Past treasurer Andrew Forshner is now the club president, replacing Colin Chan, who stepped down from the job and remains on the board as past president. Forshner curls in the Granville Island League on Tuesday evenings. Other executive members are Luke Opacic (vice president), Floyd Bardell (secretary), and Dale Bradley (treasurer). The other board members are Paul Toffoli, Diane Gushulak, Deena Szotek, Ricardo Bortolon, Scott Robertson, Corrie Belanger, Craig Coyne and Ron McKay, who was past president but has stepped forward to serve again as a director.
Little Rockers program starts on Nov. 12
Our new Little Rockers program is an introduction to curling for kids aged five to nine years old, using small rocks and half-length sheets of ice. No curling equipment is required, as VCC supplies everything needed except for a helmet. Participants are required to bring their own helmets.
The program runs for one hour each of the five sessions from Nov. 12 to Dec. 17. There is no curling on Nov. 19. Food is included in the Christmas Party on Dec. 17 with the older junior curlers.
The total fee is $65 including GST, which includes a $2.00 annual Curl BC membership fee. Click on the links below to register.
