To all VCC members,
We progress on having a 2021 season. This week, we sent information on the season, including costs, to your league reps. The reps will be in touch with you.
For those members who curl in the Novice and Intermediate leagues, information regarding registration will be sent directly to you next week.
We expect to the get the green light from Hillcrest Center soon to reopen.
So there’s only one more thing we need: YOU.
We have asked our members to commit to curling next year by completing your VCC membership registration online (go to the leagues page and click on the registration drop down). Please pay your membership fees, league fees, and the COVID surcharge directly to your league rep, by November 5 (or earlier). That’s how we’ll count whether we have enough curlers to minimize losses from curling this season. It’s your club – it’s up to you.
Barring unavoidable change, we’ll have a 17-week season starting right after the New Year. The lounge will be open, with liquor served until 10pm, closing at 11pm to support current public health orders. The lounge will serve drinks (with distancing) snacks but not meals. Members will have to follow COVID avoidance protocols (final version to be published soon), including no more than 48 curlers in the ice shed per draw. Your reps can give you more details.
We think we’ve put in place a sensible plan that will allow us to curl roughly two-thirds of a regular season, avoiding serious risk from the pandemic, while keeping cost increases to a minimum and our finances in fair shape. It has not been easy to figure this out, but we hope the reward of being able to curl again soon in our beloved club will be worth it.
We look forward to receiving your registrations.
If you have questions please contact your league rep or VCC General Manager ([email protected]).
