Learn to Curl & Novice Leagues

If you know someone who might be interested in taking up curling, then please let them know about our Saturday night learn-to-curl program. The next five-week program starts on Nov. 6.

We also run concurrent five-week novice leagues on Saturday nights that give LTC program participants a place to play once they have learned to curl. We will run five-week LTC programs and novice leagues in the last half of the season, starting on Jan. 8 and Mar. 5.

Open Ice Change

This year we’ve implemented a reservation system that will help you book open sheets at a cost of $10 per hour for practicing, or $80 for a 2 hour team practice (With 10 day advanced booking!). You’re still able to drop in during our open ice times, and if there’s a sheet available, then you can still sign up outside the ice techs’ office for 30 minutes of first come first serve ice time. Ice techs will do their best to identify the open sheets as “drop-in” sheets on the ice schedule board. And if you’ve booked a sheet, then please refer to the screen located in the window of the ice techs’ office.

Fall Teen Program

The fall teen curling program starts on Wednesday, Oct. 13 and runs for 10 weeks. It’s a program with a recreational focus that provides instruction to those who need it to be able to join the others in playing games. Teams are put together each week before curlers head out onto the ice.

Canadian Tire Jump Start Sport Relief

We are excited to share that Vancouver Curling Club has been selected by @CTJumpstart to receive a grant from their Sport Relief Fund. The fund helps community sport organizations like ours continue to provide access to sport and play for Canadian kids. This grant will go a long way towards helping us to resume Youth Curling and Reopen our club this season. From helping purchase additional cleaning/sanitizing supplies, to coaching for our Junior & Teen Programs and even Youth Jobs helping check everyone's Vaccine Passports. Big thanks to Canadian Tire! #SportReliefFund

Club Provincials

Two teams from our VCC Thursday Open league were competing in Quesnel. Team Forrest and Team Gomes.
Team Forrest placed 4th place and with only 3 players! (It's amazing Kris Davis Survived!)
Team Gomes placed 2nd, narrowly losing in the 8th end of the final on a draw to the button. (Tough one guys!)
Both teams are planning to attend next Club Provincials in Trail March 2022.
