Novice Leagues

Details on the Monday Novice League and Saturday Novice Leagues will not be known until the parameters for the curling club to open again are confirmed. The earliest opening will be January 2021.

Monday Novice League

The Monday Novice League (alternating 6:45 pm and 9:00 pm draw times) is suitable for someone who has been through a curling clinic or program or has limited curling experience. You must be ready to make a commitment to curl all season. Participants may sign up as individuals to be placed on teams, as a complete team of four, or as a partial team looking for one or two others. VCC supplies necessary curling equipment, including step-on sliders, grippers, brooms and delivery devices.

The first five weeks of the program are devoted to curling instruction, then league play begins in week six.

Participants may curl in the novice league for only two seasons, then are asked to move on to other Vancouver Curling Club leagues to make room for other new curlers in the league. This is a fun league as everyone in it is relatively new to curling and the bar is open for socializing when your game is done.

Saturday Novice Leagues

VCC offers five-week novice leagues on Saturdays from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A curling instructor is on hand each week to provide help to those who need it. VCC supplies necessary curling equipment, including step-on sliders, grippers, brooms and delivery devices.

These leagues are suitable for people who have been through a curling clinic or program or had limited curling experience, but please do not sign up with no curling experience. Participants may sign up as individuals to be placed on teams, as a complete team of four, or as a partial team looking for one or two others.
