Team Miller Captures Silver Medal
Congratulations to Team Miller on their silver medal finish at the Tim Horton's BC Senior Women's Curling Championship. Competing in Kamloops from February 22-26 against the top women's teams aged 50 and over from across the province, Team Miller came oh so close to capturing the provincial crown.
After four days of round-robin play, Team Miller - who is skip Karen Miller, third Beckie Ross, second Dianne Petrant and lead Kathy McInnes - finished in a tie for third-place. This meant that the team had a long road in front of them if they wanted to make the final. But they were undeterred.
Team Miller engineered two come-from-behind wins in back-to-back tie-breaker games on Friday and then won their semi-final game on Saturday morning. This meant that they would conclude a marathon of five 10-end curling games in 30 hours by playing the championship match against Team Noble from Qualicum. The final was a close affair that eventually saw Team Miller be run out of rocks in the 10th end.
Congratulations to Team Miller for a fabulous run through both the regional playdowns (where they went undefeated and won the event) and the provincial championships!
