World's oldest curler turns 100!

Lola with presidents

The world's oldest active curler, VCC member Lola Holmes, turned 100 years old on Sunday, Sept. 16. She held a party for family and friends at VCC on the day, and then celebrated again on her first day of curling, Monday, Sept. 24 with the Vancouver Ladies' League. She received a plaque from VCC, marking the occasion, from president Ron McKay (left) and past-president Brent Forbes (right).  Click here for a Curl BC story about Lola,  click here for a CBC story and click here for a StarMetro Vancouver story.
