VCC Championships Adopts 32 Team Draw for 2016 Bonspiel
It's official, the Vancouver Curling Club is proud to announce that our Club Championships will move to a 32 team draw format. The annual event that brings every league together to battle for the VCC Club Champion title has grown primarily due to curlers from the North Shore joining us for the 2015.16 season. We are thrilled to welcome these new leagues and their members to their new home here at the VCC.
Last year's Champions, Team Grey from the Thursday Open, (pictured to the right) currently hold the VCC Championship title and have their name on the prestigious VCC Championship Trophy for the 2014-15 season.
The 32 teams representing their respective leagues are selected based on their individual performance in league play. Several leagues gain multiple entries based on the number of draws used during the regular season, representative of the number of members they contribute to the Club. This year's VCC Championships promises to be one of the most competitive in year's past, based on the competitive nature and skill of the new leagues from the North Shore. Be sure to join us as a spectator for this event taking place in the evenings of April 11th - 14th, with draws at 6:30pm and 9pm.
