Help Celebrate our 100th Anniversary

The Club is inviting artists and designers (both amateur and professional) to design a visual image to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Vancouver Curling Club (2012).

The winning graphics will be put on t-shirts as well as other memorabilia and event materials. The t-shirts will be available for sale to members and friends of the Club with proceeds going to help our move to the new facility.

Artists are requested to keep a three-colour limit in their designs. Contributions should be submitted in PDF format with 300 dpi or better resolution by Friday, January 21st, 2011.

A New Section About Our New Home

The VCC Board and Management are pleased to unveil a new section on the club's website - a complete section featuring information, drawings and photos of the Club's new home.

Negotiations between the VCC and the Vancouver Park Board are continuing so this section will be updated as new decisions are completed, but members can be assured that the facility will be ready for play next fall for the 2011-2012 season.

Fundraising Call to Action

A message from the Club's President...

Dear Members,

Now that the new season is in high gear, the club is stepping up its fundraising efforts to secure corporate and member support to defray the costs of our move and reduce our bank financing requirements. Our current estimate for furniture, fixtures, equipment and moving / installation costs is in the range of $450,000, the largest capital outlay in our almost 100 year history.

There are a number of ways to show support, so please review the options below and help where you can:

Successful Harvest Bonspiel is in the books

Thank you to all of the participating teams for making the 2010 Harvest Bonspiel a great success.

The club would like to congratulate Team Hamish Macdonald for winning the bonspiel as they defeated Team Aaron Thompson in the A Draw on Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile, Team Ryan Blunt captured the B Event title and Team Kyle Domes won the C Division. Finally, complete event results are available by clicking here.

For those of you looking to participate in more events at the VCC, be sure to check out the Doubles Bonspiel in February and the Barry Naimark Charity Skins in March. More details on both of these events will be available in the coming weeks. And a complete listing for all of the bonspiels, clinics and more taking place at the VCC this season can be viewed by clicking here.

Intermediate Clinic Update

Due to limited interest in the upcoming intermediate clinic on "Team Dynamics", we have decided to cancel the clinic. We thank you for your understanding.

In the meantime, we are happy to announce that next month’s intermediate clinic – focusing on the “Line of Delivery” - will take place on Saturday, Nov. 27.

Please click here for more details, and we hope you will join us at the VCC for the continuation of our curling clinic series.

Register Soon for the Harvest Bonspiel

Only a couple of weeks remain before the club hosts the 2010 Harvest Bonspiel so be sure to register soon for a weekend full of great times both on and off the ice.

Complete event details are available by clicking here, but all participating teams will be guaranteed three games, a special pizza night and much more. Registrations for both teams and individuals are being accepted.
