Eight-Ender at the VCC

The Vancouver Curling Club is thrilled to announce that an Eight-Ender was accomplished by Team Rose of the B&B League!

Team Rose recently scored an eight-ender in the first end of their game. The team is actually becoming adept at achieving this rare feat as they previously scored an eight-ender approximately 12 years ago at the VCC with the exact same foursome.

Negotiations between the VCC and the Vancouver Park Board are continuing so this section will be updated as new decisions are completed, but members can be assured that the facility will be ready for play next fall for the 2011-2012 season.

Fundraising Call to Action

A message from the Club's President...

Dear Members,

Now that the new season is in high gear, the club is stepping up its fundraising efforts to secure corporate and member support to defray the costs of our move and reduce our bank financing requirements. Our current estimate for furniture, fixtures, equipment and moving / installation costs is in the range of $450,000, the largest capital outlay in our almost 100 year history.

There are a number of ways to show support, so please review the options below and help where you can:

Successful Harvest Bonspiel is in the books

Thank you to all of the participating teams for making the 2010 Harvest Bonspiel a great success.

The club would like to congratulate Team Hamish Macdonald for winning the bonspiel as they defeated Team Aaron Thompson in the A Draw on Sunday afternoon. Meanwhile, Team Ryan Blunt captured the B Event title and Team Kyle Domes won the C Division. Finally, complete event results are available by clicking here.

For those of you looking to participate in more events at the VCC, be sure to check out the Doubles Bonspiel in February and the Barry Naimark Charity Skins in March.
