Found in the city archives

Here is something club historian Kathy McInnes came across on Facebook, from the City of Vancouver archives. The old building down the street at Dinmont and Midlothian (33rd Avenue) was the first curling-dedicated facility that VCC had. It was on its last legs when the 2010 Winter Olympics came along, leaving the legacy of the new facility we occupy today.

New directors, honourary life member and bonspiel charity

The Vancouver Curling Club held its AGM on Tuesday, September 5. Leaving the Board are past president Hamish Macdonald and Mark Trowell.

An honourary life membership has been awarded to Jen Lucas, whose many contributions include:

  • Serving on the executive as president, secretary and past president
  • Chair of two committees

Registration for 2017-18 season

Some VCC leagues have changed their registration process for the upcoming season, now offering online registration in combination with VCC's annual membership/waiver form that all VCC curlers must fill out each season. We also now have an online form available for curlers wishing to purchase a practice membership. For more information go to our registration page.

Warriors on Ice

It’s common amongst playdowns curlers to joke about how many curling team jackets they have accumulated in their closet from years of competing. Many times over the years they find themselves changing teams or line-ups, resulting in the purchase of yet another team jacket. I have a collection of jackets myself.

Lounge Servers Wanted!

The VCC is currently seeking Bartender/Cooks for daytime and evening shifts Monday through Sunday (and as required for special events) to start at the end of August 2017 until the end of March 2018.
