Sandra Schmirler Day
The club's annual Sandra Schmirler Day is a little earlier in the season due to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games taking place in February.
Despite the date change, the day's goal remains the same... Sandra Schmirler Day is intended for club members, friends, family and neighbours of members, plus any interested community member to come on down to the Vancouver Curling Club.
The day will provide everyone with chance to learn more about the VCC, try the sport of curling and much more... please see the event details below.
Entry to the club on this day is by donation... and all funds raised go to the Sandra Schmirler Foundation.
Event Summary
10 am to 1 pm
Give it a Go! - a chance to try the game as instructors will be available to take people on the ice to show the game. Everyone is welcome to "give the game a go" - friends, neighbours, kids, adults and more.
11 am to 12:30 pm
Blind Curling Demonstration - members of the VCC Blind Curling League will showcasing their skills and playing an exhibition game.
1 pm to 3 pm
Members' Rock! - a chance for club members to get out on the ice and throw some rocks.
