Ice Shed Manager

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Ice Shed Manager is responsible for installing and maintaining excellent curling conditions for all members and guests of the VCC. The main four factors regarding the ice are: consistent curl, consistent keenness, cleanliness and safety of the ice surface. The Ice Shed Manager is also responsible for ensuring the ice shed, lower lounge, change rooms, washrooms on both levels, and the upper lounge are kept at an acceptable level of cleanliness. Lastly, the Ice Shed Manager is central to ensuring all of the Club’s Ice Technicians are appropriately trained and supervised to ensure a positive curling experience for all visitors to the VCC.

Assistant Ice Technician

Reporting to the Ice Shed Manager, the Assistant Ice Technician will share responsibilities for efficient maintenance of an excellent ice surface, assist with ice making and removal, perform and supervise janitorial work to ensure that the building remains spotless, and work with volunteers during the curling season.

Daily ice maintenance is to meet Canadian Curling Association competitive curling standards. Minimum requirement of a Level 1 Ice Technician certification is required; Level 2 is preferred.

Junior Ice Technicians

Reporting to the Ice Shed Manager, the Junior Ice Technicians will share responsibilities for efficient maintenance of an excellent ice surface, perform janitorial work, and support the Club’s Lounge staff.

A Level 1 Ice Technician certification is preferred.

Lounge Supervisor

Working with the Manager of Membership Services, the Lounge Supervisor will be responsible to supervise the Lounge Servers, tend the bar, prepare meals, clean and organize the Last Draw Lounge and kitchen, assist with ordering and inventory, and maintain a strong emphasis on membership satisfaction.

Bartending experience and Serving It Right are required. Cooking experience and Food Safe are assets but not required. We pay competitive wages and tips.

Lounge Servers

Reporting to the Manager of Membership Services, the Lounge Servers will be responsible to tend the bar, prepare meals, maintain the cleanliness of the Upper Lounge and kitchen, and maintain a key focus on membership satisfaction.

Bartending experience and Serving It Right are required. Some cooking experience and Food Safe are assets but not required. We pay competitive wages and tips.

Office Administrator

With the support of the Association's Executive Director and Bookkeeper, the Office Administrator’s duties will include, but are not limited to, coordinating rental bookings, processing payments, banking, handling general inquiries, implementing marketing initiatives and preparing reports.

Applicants should possess two or more years of experience in an office/administrative environment, proficiency with MS Office (especially Word and Excel), an ability to prioritize, multitask and handle pressure in order to meet deadlines, and excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail. A functional understanding of QuickBooks and desktop publishing software are assets.
